LCG Life (Can Be Good)

In 2012, Stacey Lambert, the founder of LCG Life first started on her course of professional development towards a new career and qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She was fortunate to have the full backing and support from her long time employer, her belief then as it remains today that this therapeutic training would complement and enhance the existing skill set and qualifications gained from many years working as an HR & Development professional.

Counselling, same as with personnel development within the business and workplace context, requires individuals to continually focus on their own development in order to reach their personal or professional goals. As with most living organisms, growth relies upon our environment and certain conditions being met.

Carl Rogers (1902-1987), a renowned humanistic psychologist and one of the founders of the Client Centred Therapeutic Approach, believed that the most important factor in successful therapy (creating change in the self) is the relational environment/climate created by a counsellor’s attitude to their client. He specified three interrelated core conditions to achieve this:

  • Congruence – the willingness to transparently relate to clients without hiding behind a professional or personal facade.
  • Unconditional positive regard – the therapist offers an acceptance and prizing for their client for who he or she is without conveying disapproving feelings, actions or characteristics and demonstrating a willingness to attentively listen without interruption, judgement or giving advice.
  • Empathy – the therapist communicates their desire to understand and appreciate their client’s perspective.

Rogers further asserted that a therapist ‘who embodies the three critical ‘Core Conditions’ will help liberate their client to more confidently express their true feelings without fear of judgement.’

In 2015, Stacey, already a qualified member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) and an MBTI qualified coach, achieved her goal of becoming a qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist. She has now ventured into creating a solution of Counselling through the LCG:Life Can Be Good service, and is on the BACP register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists.

How we work together

Once you are in touch, we will work with you to find a suitable qualified counsellor. Each therapy session will be for a duration of 50 minutes and usually these will be scheduled on a weekly basis at a mutually agreed time or day. The total number of sessions and any therapy ending will be explored and agreed with our clients throughout the client/counsellor relationship and on an individual needs basis.

With LCG Life we won’t advise or direct you, nor prescribe a solution: but we will create a facilitative, safe, trusted, confidential and empathic environment in which you can discover the answers you need for yourself.
